Our cerimonial organic matcha is carefully grown in Uji, Japan, a region known for its clean water and nutrient-rich, pesticide-free soil. The Tencha tea leaves are hand-picked here, gently steamed, and then ground with granite stones. This matcha comes from the first harvest in spring, which is particularly mild in flavor and offers a better quality (in terms of flavor and color) than the later harvests of the year.
An important quality feature is that the leaves are harvested and processed by hand. Hardly any machinery is used in the harvest of our cerimonial matcha . Annual soil samples and laboratory tests for heavy metals and radiation exposure are performed to ensure the best possible quality. In addition, each batch is carefully checked for its mineral properties.
