De Roots van jouw Koffie
Three origins, one shared vision
This blend brings together the dedication and craftsmanship of three exceptional coffee communities. In Costa Rica, the Bonilla Martínez family (fifth generation) manages the entire regenerative process from their own micro-mill in the Dota Valley. In Honduras, the Slow Food Community 'Las Capucas' unites farmers with a focus on intensive education and uncompromising quality. In the mountains of Colombia, the collective Café Norte also serves as an essential social safety net, providing medical care and scholarships to over a thousand small-scale farmers.
Eerlijke Betaling
67% above an indicative minimum wage (Fairtrade reference: €4.70/kg). This decouples farmers' incomes from speculation on the world market. This offers families the financial stability to no longer have to live from harvest to harvest, and it creates the space to invest in their local communities and in innovative agriculture.
Regio & Terroir
A harmonious blend of three unique terroirs at altitudes ranging from 1,100 to 1,900 meters. From the spectacular slopes bordering the protected UNESCO Celaque Natural Reserve in Honduras, to the mineral-rich soils of the Colombian Andes where farmers with their own laboratories strive for scientific consistency. This base is enriched by the Costa Rican Talamanca Mountains, where Arturo Sr. investigates the influence of the terroir by growing coffee under the shade of mango and lemon trees.
Natuurbehoud
This blend proves that coffee doesn't have to deplete the ecosystem; it can actually restore it. While Costa Rica excels with a 100% closed-loop waste system and Honduras focuses on water-saving methods and organic compost, Colombia's Café Norte transforms complete monocultures into layered agroforestry systems. By integrating shade trees and food crops, the plantations act as active carbon sinks, creating an agricultural system where farmers live off the forest without depleting its resources.
