La Cruz is the crossroads where different flavor worlds come together: deep, complex, fruity, and velvety smooth.
This single-origin specialty coffee from Tarrazú, Costa Rica, is a 100% Red Catuai that stands out for its layering. At this intersection, the deep notes of chocolate and creamy vanilla meet the fresh vibrancy of berries. Thanks to natural processing, in which the bean dries in the sun within its own fruit, the coffee acquires a full, syrupy body and an unprecedented sweetness.
Direct Trade means that we personally source this coffee and artisanally roast it in our own roastery. The result is a refined balance between fruity and spicy; an honest coffee that surprises with every sip.

FAQ
What makes the La Cruz coffee beans from Costa Rica by TUKA Coffee Roasters so special?
La Cruz is an exclusive single-origin specialty coffee from Tarrazú, Costa Rica's most renowned coffee region. These Red Catuai beans are processed using the natural method: they are sun-dried whole. As a result, the natural sugars from the coffee cherry penetrate deep into the bean, creating an unprecedented syrupy body and a complex flavor profile. Where other coffees choose a single direction, La Cruz sits at the intersection of fruity berries, creamy vanilla, and rich chocolate. A fair Direct Trade coffee for the connoisseur seeking depth and character.
What characterizes the La Cruz coffee from TUKA Coffee Roasters?
De La Cruz is a refined and layered coffee that balances at the intersection of fruity and creamy flavors. At the base, you taste the full, familiar strength of dark chocolate, beautifully complemented by the sweet, soft nuances of vanilla. The unique character is completed by a sparkling hint of berries, creating a lively dynamic. Thanks to natural processing, this Costa Rican coffee has a syrupy, full body and a silky smooth finish that continues to fascinate.
How sustainable is TUKA Coffee Roasters' coffee?
Our La Cruz coffee is an official Low Carbon Coffee. The farmer works according to the international NAMA Café model, which actively reduces the carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.
We purchase these beans directly from the source in Costa Rica (Direct Trade). Without intermediaries, the farmer receives a fair price, which allows for investments in climate-friendly innovations and the highest quality Red Catuai. Sustainability that goes beyond just a label.
How do I get the optimal flavors out of the La Cruz coffee bean?
To allow the complex aromas of the La Cruz to come into their own, we recommend the following recipes:
For double espresso: Use 19 grams of finely ground coffee beans. Aim for an extraction time of 28 seconds, which should result in approximately 40 ml of espresso (liquid).
For V60 (Filter coffee): Use 22 grams of coarsely ground coffee beans with 350 ml of water. The ideal total extraction time for this method is 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
